Sports Illustrated wonders if the team is wearing out running back Chris Johnson:
After more than 600 carries in two years and more than 400 touches in 2009, it may be worth asking the question. Unless the Titans show more discretion and keep him out of harm’s way more often, aren’t they shortening Chris Johnson’s career? [...]
ProFootballTalk has reported that the new deal Chris Johnson signed today was only $1.25 Million more than his previous contract. Johnson’s base salary will still be at $550,000 but the $1.25 Million will be added as a signing bonus, PFT reports.
However, the deal does have some incentives and bonuses to reach an estimated $2.035 Million. [...]
Pro Bowl running back Chris Johnson and the Titans have agreed to a restructured deal, but the deal still is not signed, a source confirmed to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The Titans are on a winning streak. One game, of course. Now that they have won a game, one of their best players seems to think that they can go on a much longer winning streak. Nine games long. That player is Chris Johnson, who says that there’s no doubt that [...]
At the end of the year, this loss may not matter. But boy would it have been great to get it.
For the Titans, the effort was just short as the Super Bowl champion Steelers topped Tennessee with a 3-yard OT field to escape with a 13-10 win Thursday night. The Titans nearly lost [...]
