Titans Close Facility After Titans Players Test Positive for Covid-19

It was a day of chaos in the NFL and specifically for the Titans, as it was announced that at least three new players, and five new personnel have tested positive for COVID-19 according to reports.

The Titans suspended in-person club activities after the results came in on Tuesday morning. The Minnesota Vikings, who played the Titans on Sunday, have done the same.

The outbreak for the Titans came after one of the team’s assistant coaches, outside linebackers coach Shane Bowen, did not travel with the team to Sunday’s game because he was placed in the league’s virus protocols.

With the facility being shut down till Saturday, it’s a wonder how the Titans will have the ability to prepare for Sunday’s home game with the 3-0 Pittsburgh Steelers.

“Both clubs are working closely with the NFL and the NFLPA, including our infectious disease experts, to evaluate close contacts, perform additional testing and monitor developments,” the NFL and NFL Players Association said in a joint statement.

“I don’t know what the league is going to do or what they’re going to decide, but if we are playing, we’re going to be prepared, stay in shape, and most importantly, stay quarantined,” Titans tight end Jonnu Smith said on the “Tiki and Tierney” show on CBS Sports radio on Tuesday.

Being prepared against the Steelers was going to be a task anyway, but now it got just that much harder given the news on Tuesday.
