Johnson Still Feels He’s the NFL’s Best Back

National Football Post has a piece on Titans RB Chris Johnson, who still seems to feel that he’s the best running back in the NFL, despite a down season in 2011.

It has been more than two years since Chris Johnson rushed for 2,006 yards for the Tennessee Titans and while his numbers dropped to a career-low 1,047 yards last year in part due to a holdout for a $53 million contract extension, CJ2K tells he has no regrets about last season. But he is working to be better in 2012. “I don’t really have any regrets. I don’t think I would have done anything different,” Johnson said. “At the end of the day, it’s in the past. It’s behind me. Neither me nor the team have any bad feelings about it, but it’s football and business, and you’ve got to handle your business first.” Despite his struggles, CJ says he still believes he is the best running back in the NFL. “None of those other backs have done anything that I’ve done in their first four years, even though I had a bad year last year,” he said. CJ has also put on some weight this season, working to add about eight more pounds to his frame.”That’s something I decided to do,” Johnson said. “I started working a month earlier this year. It was a situation where I wanted to be heavier this year and stay at a weight.”
