First-year Head Coach Mike Munchak has “no interest” in the coaching vacancy at Penn State University.
Late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning it had been reported that Titans head coach Mike Munchak was the top candidate for the head coaching position at Penn State.
However, it looks like Munchak likes where he’s at, and will not return to his previous employer and alma matter Penn State.
Munchak said that while he loves Penn State, “(he) never wants to leave Tennessee,” said Munchak.
Before taking the Titans position, it would have been likely that Munchak would have taken the Penn State position despite their current situation.
Yet, at this state and with the young core that Munchak has to build around at Tennessee, staying with the Titans is a pretty easy decision.
Munchak deserves the chance to build a team and mentality for a few years before considering leaving Nashville.
