Slow Start Dooms Titans, Clinches South for Texans

“We have three games, we have to win all three games,” head coach Mike Munchak said it best after the Titans 22-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

With the loss, the Titans handed over the division to the Houston Texans and now face three must-win games. After losing Matt Hasselbeck to injury in the second quarter, Jake Locker took control of the offense and had to separate chances to score in the final minutes of the game.

However, their efforts fell short and now the Titans face a three-game hill if they want any chance of making the playoffs. That hill doesn’t seem too daunting at the moment. Tennessee travels to Lucas Oil Stadium to face the win less Colts. Followed up by a home trip against the Jacksonville Jaguars who finally found their first win in four attempts.

In the final week of the season, the Titans will face the Texans, who could possibly be all but wrapped up and resting their starters.

Matt Hasselbeck is expected to have an MRI today and it will determine to what extent he will be able to play in the trip to Indianapolis. Locker has looked consistent in several appearances and will be ready to go if given the call.
