Can Johnson Build off Big Day?

This is what the Titans and Chris Johnson sought when he was signed to a new lucrative deal in the offseason.

Johnson was averaging just over 50 yards per game until busting open for 190 yards on 23 carries. We’ve seen this roller coaster ride of Johnson’s running game this season, so, can he keep it up?

With their schedule upcoming, it looks like yes.

The Titans face the Bills, Saints, and Colts in the next three weeks. After securing a big win and getting over .500, the Titans need to make a push if they want any chance of catching the Texans. The question will be how T.J. Yates performs in his likely start next week.

With 23 touches, it was apparent that the Titans were committed to running the football against Tampa Bay, and it will take that same approach against the Buffalo Bills.

Johnson has probed that he can run between the tackles, and that he can continue to improve as a game progresses with increased touches.

Tennessee needs to feed Johnson the ball early, often, and late in the next few weeks while adjusting to new quarterbacks.
