He is planning on taking a few days to mull it over.
He was with the Jets on Thursday, and he passed a physical and once he did that, the team released Jerricho Cotchery, possibly thinking that Mason was going to sign – but he didn’t.
The Ravens are the team that Mason has played for the past six seasons for, but the team released him to cut salary when the lockout was lifted. The Ravens have yet to get that big name WR in free agency, a reason why it may be his best bet to come back to the Ravens.
As for the Titans, they have a new QB in Matt Hasselbeck, and there’s a soft spot in Mason’s heart for Tennessee, where he began his career and played 8 seasons before leaving for the Ravens. He played in the teams only Super Bowl appearance losing to the Rams by a yard back in the 1999 season.
Putting odds on it, here’s betting that Mason thinks it over and goes back to Baltimore. a team that is one of the elite in the AFC.
