Young Set to Be Released on Friday

The Vince Young Era in Tennessee will officially be over on Friday, as reports say the team is going to release the former first-round pick.

The Titans were hoping they could find a team to take Young off their hands, but teams that might have an interest know that he’s going to be released, so they would rather wait it out than give up something for him.

The troubled quarterback wore out his welcome in Tennessee after a locker room meltdown last season after a loss to Washington.

Former coach Jeff Fisher persuaded owner Bud Adams to rid the team of Young and new coach Mike Munchak reiterated that Young would not return, even after Fisher departed in February. Young is due a $4.25 million roster bonus and has a salary of more than $8 million due this season.

  1. Oilers Forever says:

Looking forward to watching Young humiliate the Oilers for years to come. Win two-thirds of your starts for a team that plays sub-.500 football without you, and get rewarded by being released.

No matter what you call ‘em or where they play, they’re still the Oilers. Only the Oilers could be so dumb.
