Titans OC Mike Heimerdinger Undergoing Chemo for Cancer

Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger is bravely battling cancer, undergoing chemotherapy treatments. He’s down to 170 pounds after weighing around 230 pounds at Thanksgiving. “The hard part is I am not a real patient person, and this is not a patient disease,” Heimerdinger told the Tennessean.

“It is a marathon and I want it done now, I want the chemo to work and doctors to say, ‘It is all gone.’ But that is not going to happen. So you have to come to terms with that. That is the hard part for me.” Heimerdinger is staying upbeat, maintaining a positive attitude as he continues to fight the illness. “I was hoping it went away,” Heimerdinger said. “I was hoping that the first treatments, it would go into remission and disappear. Obviously, it didn’t so I’ve had to do more treatments. The main this is to keep under control and not spread it. And it hasn’t spread and it is under control.”
