Titans Expecting Big Numbers at Workouts Next Week

Titans players are expecting big numbers at their unofficial minicamp next week according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

In recent weeks the largest turnout has been 17 players — that was on Thursday.

“Hopefully 40-plus will (turn out),’’ linebacker Gerald McRath said of the upcoming minicamp. “We’ve confirmed a lot of guys and are trying to get in touch with the rookies. We are trying to get everybody out here. It is going to be huge as far as the older guys teaching the younger guys. Everything we do next week is going to help us in the long run.”

Cornerback Cortland Finnegan has been one of the ringleaders in gathering players throughout the offseason.

The Titans plan to work in one-on-one situations, and in seven-on-seven drills, Finnegan said.

“Players just want to gauge where other players are at, and we want to make sure everyone is working,’’ Finnegan said. “We need to come together as a team, too. We have a lot of uncertainty in the Titans organization and with all the coaching changes and scheme changes, it will be nice to laugh with one another.”
