Although Joe Flacco has started every game in his three-year career as the Ravens’ quarterback, Baltimore wants to make sure it still has a solid insurance policy if Marc Bulger leaves as a free agent. The Baltimore Sun reports it’s an unlikely scenario Bulger returns, so it will need to be another veteran such as Kerry Collins, who also is a free agent.
A number of reports suggest Bulger is a likely candidate to end up in Arizona when the lockout is lifted. The 38-year-old Collins, meanwhile, is thought to be the Titans’ first choice as a veteran to help ease Jake Locker’s transition to the NFL. Other team needs when the market opens after the lockout are a fullback to potentially replace Le’Ron McClain and a pass rusher to complement Terrell Suggs.
