While everyone seems to be talking about Jake Locker, not many people are thinking that Rusty Smith could be under center for some in 2011. GM Mike Reinfeldt says that he thinks Smith could be a decent backup in the NFL, but not a starter.
Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt said QB Rusty Smith may not have the ability to be a starter in the NFL but he can certainly become a very good backup quarterback. “He’s still got all the tools. I think he’s a young man that has a chance to play in the league for a number of years. He might not be a starter, but he could be a pretty darn good backup for a while. He’s got all the things you look for: the strong arm, the good size and he’s got a good touch, a quick release,” Reinfeldt said.
