Breakdown of the Third Day of the Draft for the Titans

NFL.com breaks down day three for the Titans, and gives their take on some background on the players the team picked.

Round 4, Pick 12 (109) Colin McCarthy LB 6’1″ 238 Miami 6.1 Video

Pick Analysis: McCarthy gives the Titans a tough, physical linebacker to plug into the middle. His combination of instincts and awareness rate favorably, and he is the rugged presence they prefer at the position. He has played all three linebacker positions during his collegiate career, so expect him to make an immediate contribution as a backup/special teamer.

Round 4, Pick 33 (130) (Compensatory Selection) Jamie Harper RB 5’11” 233 Clemson 2.5 Video

Pick Analysis: Harper gives the Titans another explosive runner in the backfield. He is a legitimate homerun hitter with size, speed and nifty feet. He has “make you miss ability” in the hole and is a strong finisher after contact. He will provide quality depth behind Chris Johnson.

Round 5, Pick 11 (142) Karl Klug DL 6’3″ 275 Iowa 4.6

Pick Analysis: The Titans add a big, physical defender to their front line. He has the size, toughness and movement skills to be a factor as a rotational player.

Round 6, Pick 10 (175) Byron Stingily OT 6’5″ 315 Louisville

Round 7, Pick 9 (212) Zach Clayton DT 6’2″ 299 Auburn

Round 7, Pick 48 (251) (Compensatory Selection) Tommie Campbell DB 6’3″ 203 California (PA)
