Coach Mike Munchak reiterated Thursday that the team and quarteback Vince Young will part ways, no matter what happens in the NFL draft according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.
The fact that the verdict was reached on Jeff Fisher’s watch changes nothing, said Munchak, whose focus is on identifying the next Titans quarterback and whether that player might come from an intriguing group of draft prospects next week.
“That was a decision made months ago and nothing that is going to happen personnel-wise, or how the draft goes, is going to change that,’’ said Munchak, who replaced Fisher in February. “It wasn’t just a Jeff Fisher decision — I think people kind of have that feeling because it happened back then we could change our decision.”
Munchak said the Titans have had no second thoughts.
“It was a company decision, so obviously we aren’t going to change that decision,” he said. “We are standing by that decision. What’s been done is best for everybody.”
