National Football Post has a piece on Chris Johnson, and it talks about how he thinks the team should step up and draft Cam Newton, and also he thinks there will be a season and a deal will at some point get done.
Tennessee Titans star running back Chris Johnson thinks the AFC South franchise should draft Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton.
The Titans are expected to cut or trade Vince Young.
“I haven’t really been paying a whole lot of attention to the quarterback situation, but I’m a big Cam Newton fan and the things that he can do,” Johnson said, per TitanInsider. “But I don’t have anything to do with the draft. Besides, with the lockout and stuff, they’re still not officially through with Vince totally.”
As for Johnson, he says he’s not setting any statistical goals unlike previous years when he said he wanted to rush for 2,500 yards.
“My goal is just to play football,” Johnson said. “I’m pretty sure something will get done and there’ll be a season.
