DE William Hayes is out 2 to 4 weeks with sprained MCL on his left knee.
Defensive end William Hayes got good news on Wednesday, even if he didn’t look like he got good news. An MRI on his left knee revealed he suffered a sprained right medial collateral ligament, not a more serious anterior cruciate ligament sprain. Hayes said he expects to be out 2 to 4 weeks, which means he’ll likely miss the entire preseason. But Hayes knows it could have been worse. An ACL injury would have ended his 2010 season. “I thought it was going to be worse,” Hayes said. “It is not as bad as we thought, so everybody is happy around here. I’ll be out for a couple of weeks and be back into it. It definitely slows (me) down a little bit, but I’ll continue to work hard … and get ready to come back.”
