1970
Douglas Wilkerson was drafted by the Houston Oilers in the first round (14th overall) of the 1970 NFL Draft. Wilkerson was a 6’3” 253 pound guard out of North Carolina Central. His stature is relatively small for that position by today’s standards. He played all but his first season with the San Diego Chargers. Wilkerson was a 3-time Pro-Bowler and a 1-time First Team All-Pro. During his 15 seasons, he started 195 out of 204 games and recovered 9 fumbles. He once returned a punt for a grand total of zero yards. My sources however cannot tell me what the Oilers/Titans got back for him in return. If any of you have any knowledge of that trade, please inform us.
