Ron Pritchard was selected by the Houston Oilers as a Linebacker out of Arizona State with the 15th pick of the 1969 NFL Draft. Pritchard played between 1969 and 1977, and all I could find on Pritchard is that he had 3 interceptions for 28 yards, and he once scored a safety. It must be noted that sacks were not recorded by the NFL for defensive players until 1982. Therefore, Pritchard’s playing résumé lacks a bit. Pritchard only played with the Houston Oilers for 3 and half years. He played the last 5 and half seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.
I do not mean to scrutinize the pick; I do not have enough resources (watching Pritchard’s’ games) to know how productive Pritchard was. But, I do know that the Baltimore Colts selected Ted Hendricks, a Linebacker out of Miami (FL) who played very well over the course of his career. Hendricks is a Hall of Famer. However, since Hendricks was not drafted by the Oilers, I will stop listing his accolades. Below is a picture of Pritchard while a student-athlete at ASU.
