Kerry Collins is trying not to listen to fans when it comes to their call for backup QB Vince Young:
Kerry Collins tuned out talk radio long ago. During football season, he pays little attention to what’s being written or said about him. But the Titans quarterback has been around the game long enough to know what happens when the team he’s directing is losing games. “The first guy you look at is the quarterback. Every quarterback that’s played long enough has been through it with the exception of maybe a couple,” the 15th-year pro said with a shrug on Wednesday. “But I learned over the years that I just ignore that stuff. I am not stupid; I know what’s being said. ? But my main focus is to get a win and to do what I need to make that happen.” Vince Young, meanwhile, is trying to stay out of any quarterback controversy generated by fans and media. With the Titans off to a 0-4 start, Collins is under fire. As of Wednesday afternoon, 70 percent of voters in a Tennessean.com poll said Young should be the starter in Sunday night’s game against the Colts at LP Field.
