If you thought this was going to be the week that the Titans finally got back on track, think again. Jets wonder rookie QB Mark Sanchez threw for 2 TD’s and ran for one, and the Jets used an early 14-0 lead to jump start them, then rallied for a score to overcome a 17-14 deficit to finally beat the Titans 24-17.

The win means the Jets are 3-0, only the fourth time that has ever happened. Rex Ryan also joined Al Groh (2000) as the only Jets coaches to win their first three games. The day not only belonged to Sanchez, but also to David Harris, who stepped up with a big pick of Kerry Collins, then a sack to help stop another drive.

The defense made stops when they had to, as they shut out Kerry Collins, who was 0 for his last 13 as the Titans fell to 0-3.

The Jets took a quick lead, scoring touchdowns on their first two possessions. Sanchez marched the Jets down the field on a 10-play drive over 73 yards that was capped by his 14-yard scoring run. Facing third-and-10 from the 14, Sanchez took off and took a hard shot from Michael Griffin, but pushed through into the end zone. The ball came out, but it had already crossed the goal line.

Sanchez finished 17 of 30 for 171 yards and TD tosses to Jerricho Cotchery and Ben Hartsock. Collins was 15 of 37 for 170 yards and a touchdown, but threw two interceptions. The Jets also did a nice job against Chris Johnson, who had 97 yards on 22 carries a week after he set a career high with 197 yards rushing.
