Pro Football Weekly reports that rookie Javon Ringer seems to be the front runner for the Titans 3rd RB spot
While rookie Javon Ringer looks like the favorite to become the Titans’ third-string running back, a source close to the club notes that he didn’t exactly stand out with his play in offseason workouts. The Titans are said to like reserves Rafael Little and Quinton Ganther, who will be pushing for one of the last roster spots along with Ringer. Also, third-year back Chris Henry, who has excellent speed, could be tough to give up on if he shows better instincts than he had in his first two pro seasons.
(For someone as fast as Henry is, he does not quickly find and burst through the hole, and that has frustrated the Titans, we’re told.) In all, if Ringer has a solid camp, and if the other backs don’t take a significant step forward, the rookie from Michigan State is expected to take the third spot on the RB depth chart.
