Recently Released DT Robertson Says He’d Like to Play for Titans

With the team facing the future with losing Albert Haynesworth, the team could have a new player coming in, that being former Jet and Bronco DT Dewayne Robertson. He was just recently released by the Broncos, and said he would like to come home to play for the Titans.

One player who considers the Titans a potential landing spot if Haynesworth leaves is former New York Jets and Denver Broncos defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson. Robertson, who played high school football at Memphis Melrose before going to the University of Kentucky, was released as a salary cap cut by the Broncos earlier this week and is free to negotiate even before unrestricted free agency begins on Feb. 27. “We have put a short list together of the teams that Dewayne would be a good fit with, and Tennessee is on that list,” agent Hadley Englehard said.

“He is a Memphis kid, so playing in Nashville would be a dream come true for Dewayne. We have been contacted by a number of teams. I have not heard from the Titans yet, but I hope to cross paths with them while I’m in Indianapolis and talk to them about Dewayne.” The Titans’ level of interest in Robertson is not yet known, but if Haynesworth departs, it appears likely Tennessee could delve into the free agent market for a potential replacement.
