Simms Released; Could Be Re-Signed Next Week

The day before their matchup with the Ravens, the Titans have announced that they have released backup QB Chris Simms.  But, there is a chance according to The Tennessean that Simms will be re-signed early next week.  The team felt that Simms was expendable when they added punter Josh Miller to the roster for tomorrows game.  It appears that regular punter Craig Hentrich will not be able to play in the contest due to back spasms.

With Simms gone, it means that Vince Young will officially be the number two QB for the contest.  Young practiced with the team this week, and seemed healthy enough to play if need be.  It will still be interesting to see how Jeff Fisher deals with Young, and when/if he will see the field again in 2008 over Kerry Collins.
