Titans 4-0 After 30-17 Win Over Vikings

Johnson w/ a big game

The fourth week of the NFL season has the Minnesota Vikings traveling to Nashville?s LP Field to battle the Tennessee Titans. Both teams are very alike and have many similarities. Each team features a strong running game and a powerful defensive line. Another similarity between the two teams is that both are starting their second string quarterback. Over the past 3 weeks, both teams have averaged exactly 158 yards passing per game. The winner will be determined by the amount of turnovers.

The Titans received the ball and marched down the field, setting a fast paced offensive tempo to start the game. The drive ended on a 4th and goal from the MIN 2 yard line. Coach Jeff Fisher elected to take the field goal for an easy three points.

The Titans added to this lead at the end of the first quarter with a 1 yard touchdown run from RB Chris Johnson. Soon after, the Vikings added their own points to the scoreboard after an impressive 28 yard run from last season?s Rookie of the Year Adrian Peterson.

Tennessee maintained their comfortable lead for the entire duration of the game. Although Minnesota slightly closed the point margin and momentarily looked like they might make a comeback, the Titans responded by abruptly ending their drive when CB Nick Harper returned an interception for the TD. The turnovers proved too costly to the Vikings as they lost the ball 4 times compared to the Titans only losing it once.

Once again the Titan?s defense showed off their talent with 3 forced fumbles, 4 sacks, and the game-sealing interception. The offense was also efficient with Collins throwing for almost 200 yards and Johnson rushing for a pair of TDs. The Titans are now 4-0 while the Vikings fall to 1-3.

  1. Tony Johnson says:

I realized one minor mistake after I sent this article in. CB Nick Harper’s interception was not returned for a touchdown. Rather, it was Chris Johnson who put the 6 points on the board after a 6 yard TD run on the very next play.
