There is one huge problem that I currently see on the Tennessee Titans football team.
This is the lack of wide receivers. We all know that the Titans have one of the worst groups of receivers in the entire NFL. When the Titans starting receivers are guys that are being released from other teams for not being good enough; you know there is a problem. Is it just the lack quality receivers in the league, or is it that the Titans just can’t seem to find the right guy?
Now, the offensive woes are not limited to the receivers alone. Some of the blame also falls on the guy passing the ball-Vince Young. Vince Young’s poor passer rating and occasional bad decisions have made him a prime target for critics. However, it would be easier for Vince if the guys catching the ball could create some separation between themselves and their defender.
The blame for the Titans struggles falls on both the quarterback and the receivers. At this time, the struggles of the offense are noticeably hurting the entire team. Even though its early in the season, both positions need to take their gameplay to the next level.
There are some bright spots in the offense. The running game is very strong with the 1-2 punch of Chris Johnson and LenDale White. The Offensive Line appears to be a strong wall, so far. And of course the Titans defense is one of the best in the business When the wide receivers step up and start making plays, and Young eliminates some of his costly choices, the Titans will start to place the final pieces of the puzzle together. Once those pieces are in place, the Titans will rise up to be one of the elite teams in the NFL.
