Today’s Nashville City Paper says that recently released wide out Justin McCareins may be looking at coming back to the team where he first began – the Titans. McCareins was let go by the Jets Tuesday after a dismal season in which he saw his role in the offense basically become null and void. He dropped two passes in a week two loss to the Ravens, and seemed never to be heard from again. In four years with the Jets, McCareins had 141 catches for 2,062 yards and seven TDs.
He came on with the Titans in three seasons, and after his first season in which he played just four games, he played in 16 games of each of his next two years, and after catching 19 passes in 2002, in 2003 he had his best Pro season, catching 47 passes for 813 yards and seven TD’s. The paper says that with McCareins, Roydell Williams, and Justin Gage, the Titans would have their best wide out core in quite a few years.
