White and the Titans Run over Panthers 20-7

It was just like old times at LP Field on Sunday, as the Titans feasted on former Texans now Panthers QB David Carr as Tennessee topped the Panthers 20-7 for their 6th win of the season. The Titans running game was the story, rushing for 140 yards on 43 carries and controlling the clock most of the day. Tennessee had just 236 yards of offense, but it was enough against a Panthers team that clearly is in deep trouble in the NFC South.
LenDale White continues to become the Titans top back, as he ran for 100 yards on 31 carries and a score. While he only had a long carry of 12 yards, his tough running was the reason why the Titans were able to pound out some tough yards when they needed them. Vince Young threw for 110 yards on 14-for-23 passing with no scores and two picks.
Tennessee held an opponent to 14 or fewer points for the sixth time this season. The Titans defense had a shutout until the Panthers finally scored in the fourth quarter. Albert Haynesworth had three of the Titans’ season-high seven sacks as they continue to be the leagues most improved unit from a season ago.
The Titans continue to sit at home, as they play their third straight at LP Field next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
