Titans Fall 14-6 to Skins as Young Sits

Collins plays for Young

The Titans were home losers in their first preseason game on Saturday night to the Redskins 14-6.  Despite the defeat, all the news was made before the game.  The big story of the game came down about an hour before kickoff, as the team sat quarterback Vince Young out of the game after he violated an unspecified team rule. “He will be on the sidelines tonight, will practice this week and play next weekend at New England,” Fisher said in the release.

Young would not have played much, as he was only get to play three or four series in the game. Kerry Collins, the teams number two QB, got the start, and went 10-17 for 79 yards.  Back to Young, he appeared on TV and while he would not say what he did that was wrong, he did warn children not to break the rules.  Reports say that Young reportedly stayed at home instead of the team hotel, which is why he was not allowed to take the field.

Last season Young started the regular season game in Philadelphia after he missed the team flight in Nashville. Young ended up flying to Philadelphia on his own but was not held out of that game. Fisher did say postgame that Young would take the field and play next week in the Titans second preseason game.
