Chris Brown vs. LenDale White vs. Chris J. Henry | Tennessee Titans

The running back carousel in Tennessee shows no signs of slowing down, with oft-injured veteran Brown competing with the second-year White and rookie Henry for the starting role.

Last season, the Titans were a surprising, exciting and dynamic team to watch. The explosive play of quarterback Vince Young, coupled with former running back Travis Henry’s solid play, nearly catapulted the Titans into the playoffs. However, duplicating last season’s rushing prowess won’t be easy, and the battle for the No. 1 running back position has yet to be decided. It is doubtful that Henry will see the lion’s share of the carries this season, considering that the Titans have yet to see how White, also a young and unproven player, develops. The competition for the starting role should come down to White and Brown. Given Brown’s injury history and inability to consistently produce on the field, though, don’t be surprised if White overtakes him as the season progresses. Consider both White and Brown No. 5 running backs at the start of the 2007 season.

PROJECTED WINNER: Brown leads for now and is the likely starter once the season commences, but don’t be surprised if White overtakes him at some point.
