Jones

How about the thought of Adam “Pacman” Jones staring across the ring at guys like Kurt Angle and A.J. Styles instead of Marvin Harrison or Andre Johnson? That’s the hope of wrestling promotion TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling) who have contacted those involved with Jones to see his interest in joining their team for a storyline involving the Titans corner. Jones, who is suspended for the season, “probably won’t be wrestling” according to comments in today’s Tennessan by Worrick Robinson, who represents Jones.

“Pacman is talking with TNA at this time and we expect an announcement to be made in the next several days,” Robinson said to the paper. “It is not anticipated that he’ll be wrestling, but discussions are taking place for him to have some role in their profession. But details have not be finalized.” Jones would not be the first Titans player to be involved with TNA, as former tight end Frank Wycheck took part in a June event, and was joined by Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch.

“Pacman remains dedicated to returning to the Titans and any other interests are just that, interests,” Robinson said. In other words, don’t think that Jones will become the next “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd, who was the San Diego Chargers’ 1st round draft pick (15th overall) back in 1961, played for 7 years in football before becoming a full-time pro wrestler who was inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame in 1995. The stunt for Jones would be just that, but at the same time, you have to wonder if commissioner Goodall would look upon Jones entering a wrestling ring as a responsible thing to do for a player that is currently suspended.
