Titans add to scouting department

According to The Tennessean, the Tennessee Titans have made their final adjustments to both their professional and college scouting departments, including several new additions and promotions.  Joining the Titans staff as pro personnel assistants are Brandon Taylor and Jon Salge.  They will report to Director of Pro Personnel Lake Dawson and assist him in evaluating players in various professional leagues, including the NFL.  Taylor joins the Titans from the Carolina Panthers, while Salge was promoted from within the Titans scouting department.

In addition, Marvin Sunderland and Richard Shelton have joined the Titans’ college scouting staff.  Sunderland has 31 years of previous experience evaluating NFL talent, including time with the Jets, Giants and Patriots.  Shelton, a former NFL defensive back and Florida A&M coach, spent five years scouting for the Eagles.  In addition to the hirings, the Titans have added a different structure to their college department with more emphasis on regional and national cross-checkers.

C.O. Brocato is now the national supervisor of college scouting and will be responsible for cross-checking all players west of the Mississippi, while Mike Ackerley will cross-check those East of the river as the Eastern director.  Blake Beddingfield has assumed the title of scouting coordinator and will retain his current scouting area (Mid-South).  College scout Phil Neri will move from the Northeast region to the West region.  Scout Bo Bolinger has retired, but will serve as a scouting consultant.
