Jeff Fisher & Friends Charity Softball Game Saturday Night

The 2007 Comcast “Jeff Fisher & Friends” Charity Softball Game presented by Regions Bank will be played on Saturday, June 23 (7 p.m.) at Greer Stadium. A portion of the proceeds for this seventh annual event will benefit Mercy Ministries, Second Harvest Food Bank and several other local charities. The event has raised nearly $300,000 to date.

The charity game has become a favorite not only among fans, but the players themselves. Highlights from last year’s game include former Titans QB Steve McNair making a surprise appearance, with McNair’s successor, Vince Young, pitching to his mentor.

“The game is an opportunity for us to give back to the community as well as offering our fans a chance to see the players and coaches in a casual and fun environment,” says Fisher, who carries a 7-0 record into this year’s event. “The players really enjoy a night out competing with their teammates. The locker room ribbing goes on all year long.”

Free parking will be provided by the Tennessee Titans and the evening will be capped off by a dazzling fireworks display presented by Bridgestone and Best One. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and early arrivals can enjoy pre-game activities, including an exhibition game played by the Little League Softball Clubs and a “Hit it Out of the Park” contest between the NFL Players.

General Admission is $10 and reserved seats are $15. Tickets for children 12 and under are $6. Tickets are on sale now through the Nashville Sounds ticket office or by calling 615-242-4371. Show your KrogerPlus card, Military or Student ID and get $1 off.

New this year, Nashville-based Soles4soulsTMInc., the global organization dedicated to providing free footwear to people in need all over the world, will be conducting a shoe drive at the game for the Million Pair March campaign. Soles4Souls is asking fans to donate one pair of new or “gently worn” shoes and/or money for shipping the shoes to the Sudan, a notoriously poverty– and war-stricken area of the world.
